THE HADJILOUCAS STORY
The story of Hadjiloucas Constructions begins back in the early 1950s in Agios Vasilios of occupied Nicosia, when the teenager Christofis Hampis, at the age of just 13, started his first job in the difficult but artful profession of stone building.
After the end of the Liberation Struggle of 1955-59 where Christofis actively participated, resulting in him being arrested and imprisoned for 2 years, he not only continued to build stone for home purposes but he also extended it to other types of constructions such as bridges and wells. Although in these years he learned to use modern materials such as cement and bricks, he persisted in using stone as a building material because stone is what he loved the most. The reputation he gradually acquires as an excellent craftsman in the construction of stone lead him to collaborations with the best Architects and Civil Engineers of the time, among them Mr. Leptos of Leptos Estates.
In the late 1960s he was persuaded to work in Libya for a large construction company.
Upon his return to Cyprus, his professional career is interrupted once again because of the Turkish invasion on the island. After the invasion he was forced to settle in Limassol as a refugee and started again from scratch. He borrowed a bicycle and started going around asking for a job; he immediately got one and gradually regained his work tools and a work car. With the help of some of his family members, he built an almost improvised cart and started not only to build stone but to trade it as well.
With hard work Christofis and his family members managed to get back on their feet and in the mid-80s they bought their first plot of land in Lakatamia, Nicosia where they built their own house. The river at the back of their house became a stone cutting and storage plant. Although many proposals for a partnership were coming, Christofis decided to continue working with family members instead.
In 1985, the then 20-year-old Costas Hadjiloucas became a member of Christofi’s family, after marrying his daughter. Costas Hadjiloucas, originally from Famagusta, began working as a builder assistant from his teenage years while attending a Technical School. After he finished his military service, he began to work with Christofis, where he further developed his technique.
In 1992, Costas Hadjiloucas founded together with his brother Michael and with the unparalleled support of his father-in-law, the company K & M Hadjiloucas Ltd. The company started to undertake contracts in both Nicosia and Limassol. At the end of the 90’s they began to study the prospect of developing their own projects and managed to implement it in the coming years with great success.
This great success forced the two brothers to create two separate companies each based in their respective city of residence. Evidently, Hadjiloucas Constructions was founded in the Nicosia area in 2008.
Today, the third generation takes the reins of the company, with Andreas Hadjiloucas at the helm. Andreas, with the extensive field experience he acquired from his grandfather and father from a very young age, worked in the family company while completing his studies in civil engineering.
Today, Andreas, with his many years of experience both on construction sites and in other sectors of the company, with his professional studies and as a member of ETEK, sets the goal of consolidating the company as one of the top quality construction companies in the sector.

With all due respect to the old techniques, and with their reinforcement with modern materials, we want our constructions, either made of concrete or metal, to stand the test of time to be reused by the next generations.
